Compressor Mechanic (OK)

Position Summary 

Mechanic A is responsible for performing Mechanical maintenance duties such as operating, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and company-owned prime movers and rotating equipment at the Iron Horse Midstream Compressor Stations near Union City, Minco, Amber, and Chickasha, OK. 

Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent. 
  • 5+ years of experience in natural gas facility and rotating equipment maintenance. 
  • Proven experience with Caterpillar 3600 ULB engines and Ariel compressor frames. 
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic software and precision tools. 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. 
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record. 
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and remain subject to random drug testing. 
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check. 
  • Experience with the repair, alignment, and replacement of various pumps, fans, and motors. 
  • Ability to perform duties and handle tasks under potentially stressful conditions. 
  • Physical ability to stand, walk for prolonged periods, bend, reach above shoulder height, and lift heavy objects. 
  • Knowledge of safety and operations within natural gas plants. 
  • Flexibility to work various schedules, including shift work, overtime, and on-call. 
  • Product knowledge of gas, diesel, electrical, electronic, and mechanical components. 

Responsibilities 

  • Promote company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and professional work environment. 
  • Inspect engines, compressors, and mechanical equipment to diagnose problems. 
  • Perform independent mechanical inspections, repairs, and routine preventative maintenance. 
  • Overhaul, repair, and adjust engines, compressors, pumps, and motors. 
  • Maintain and repair ignition, fuel, and emissions control systems. 
  • Maintain compressor logs, diaries, and an oil sampling program. 
  • Manage inventories of parts, equipment, lubricants, and coolants. 
  • General upkeep of facilities and equipment, including engines/compressors, vehicles, and the shop. 
  • Demonstrate sound technical and professional judgment. 
  • Make decisions and corrections when problems are detected. 
  • Complete essential tuning functions to adjust engine and heater performance. 
  • Coordinate with crane and rigging services for maintenance support.
